Jackie Anderson

Jackie Anderson is a New Zealand born mixed media artist working from her home studio in Newcastle, Australia. She studied visual arts, majoring in painting at the University of Auckland graduating in 2001 before embarking on travel abroad. She returned to her art practice full time in 2018.

Inspired by her coastal surroundings Jackie translates impressions of the environment around her into beautifully layered abstract paintings. She is a colour driven creative and her practice explores new ways of interpreting both built and natural landscapes into abstract form.

She was the winner of the Jumbled Art Superstar in 2019 and has been a finalist in several art prizes around Australia including the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and the Lethbridge Landscape Prize.
